My background.

I'm an engineer by training and a licensed construction superintendent with more than a decade in construction management, on projects valued in the hundreds of millions of dollars. My role there is the same one I take for homeowners here: making sure the contract says what it should before anyone signs it.

No contractor has ever paid me, and none ever will.

Referral fees are standard in this industry and they quietly invert who a service is really for. A directory that collects a placement fee has a financial interest in you hiring somebody. I don't run a network, keep a preferred list, or accept anything from a trade.

What I'm not.

Not an attorney

I analyze construction scope, pricing, and documentation. I don't advise on whether a clause would hold up in court, and if you're already in a dispute I'll point you to a construction attorney licensed in your state.

Not a home inspector

An on-site assessment covers the conditions relevant to your quote. It isn't a home inspection, it produces no code determination, and it doesn't cover the rest of the property. For that you want a home inspector licensed in your state.

Not a contractor

I don't bid on the work I review and I don't want to. The moment I have something else to sell you, the review stops being worth anything.

Not a lead generator

Your information never goes to a contractor, a network, or a marketing list.

Send me the quote.

Fixed price, written report. Or just tell me about the job and I'll say whether you need me at all.
